Getting the most from your editing session

Why edit? At the very least, editing involves removing unwanted out-of-focus footage and bits of footage when the camera jiggles.

At its best, editing is the process of taking "raw" video-tape and digital disc footage and turning it into a well-ordered narrative that tells a "story" -- whether it's the story of "My Vacation in Africa" or the story of "Glass Engraving for Beginners." Material is re-sequenced for purposes of clarity and dramatic effect, and music, titles, perhaps the addition of photographs and slides which help to tell the story as well as "voice-over" narration may be added.

At VideOccasions, we consider you to be the Producer. It's your story to tell: our editors will help you realize that story, giving advice and encouragement, but ultimately it's your story and we depend upon you -- sitting beside us as we work -- to provide the guidance necessary to bring your project to fruition.
