VideOccasions' Digital Services at a Glance
The 21st century is truly the digital age, and nowhere is this more evident than in the realm of videography! Keeping abreast of the "new video," VideOccasions offers a full range of digital services. If you have questions after exploring our web site, please call us at 425-641-4811 or send us an email.
Please follow the links below for detailed descriptions of each service.
- Video tapes to DVDs and CDs
- Analog tapes (VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, 8mm and Hi-8, even Betamax) transferred to DVD.
- Digital tapes (miniDV, DVCAM, Digital8) to DVD
- Short tapes to CD Tapes of under an hour can be put onto CD. Please call us (425-641-4811) to discuss this service.
- Films (8mm, Super 8mm, 16mm -- silent and sound) to DVD or tape
- Since digital tape provides the optimum in image quality, we recommend transfering 8mm, Super 8mm and 16mm (silent and sound) film to digital tape before having VideOccasions create your DVD or VHS copies, thus assuring digital continuity throughout the film transfer process. Please call (425-641-4811) to discuss the option.
- Copies of DVDs and CDs
- We can make copies from your DVDs and CDs.
- We do not copy commercial DVDs and CDs, however -- discs you have rented from Blockbuster or purchased from Tower Records, for example.
- Format Conversion of DVDs
- We can convert DVDs from abroad -- PAL or SECAM -- to DVDs in the U.S. NTSC format, and DVDs in the U.S. format to PAL format.
- We do not convert commercial DVDs, however. Please call (425-641-4811) to discuss this service.
- Copying digital tapes
- Copies from digital to analog: miniDV, DVCAM and Digital8 to VHS and SVHS
- Copies from digital to digital: miniDV and Digital8 to miniDV (but not to Digital8).
- Editing digital materials -- Tapes and DVDs
- We can edit your digital tapes (miniDV, DVCAM and Digital8) on our computer editing equipment.
- Editing from DVDs is also possible. It necessitates transfering the files on your DVD to a digital editing system, then creating a new DVD. Please call (425-641-4811) for information concerning the use of DVDs as a source.
- DVD and Tapes to Your Apple or PC Computer for Editing at Home
- VideOccasions can create a data file from your DVD or video tape . It's just like a Word file would be for a letter, but it's for video. You won't be able to play it in your DVD player, but it will play in Windows Media Player on your PC or on your Mac and the file can be imported directly into your video editing software so you can work on your project at home.
- If you bring us your external hard drive or laptop and leave it for a day or two, we can transfer your tapes to these media as well.
- Digital Production: Video for Business, and for Events and Parties
- Our production services make use of Sony DSR PD-150 digital cameras. These cameras are noted for the excellence of their performance in low light conditions, making them ideal for situations in which special lighting would be an annoyance or distraction -- e.g., conferences, business meetings, parties and other events.
