Most of VideOccasions' production work is done using Sony DSR-PD150 digital cameras.
In special instances we also make use of Sony Hi-8/3CCD-VX3's and have on hand two S-VHS Panasonic AG455's for those with analog tape needs, which we still encounter from time to time. |
At VideOccasions, your work will be digitally edited on either the Edirol DV7-DL Pro Studio Edition editing system; on a proprietary digital editing system imported from Germany, the KRON Plus; or using Sony's Vegas digital editing software.
DVDs are prepared using Ulead's DVD Workshop and burned using Pioneer disc burners and duplicators..
Also available is a Sony DHR-1000 DV/MiniDV record and play-back deck, which can be patched to VHS, S-VHS, 8mm and Hi-8 for both editing and duplication.
Linear (tape to tape) Editing
VideOccasions is still equipped for linear editing with A/B rolls, with JVC BR-S500U and Sony Hi-8 EV-S7000 source decks and a JVC BR-S800U record deck, controlled by a JVC RM-G805U edit controller.
We have two video mixers, a Panasonic WJ MX-50 and an MX-12. In addition to controlling cuts and dissolves, the MX-50 enables a wide range of other transition effects.
A BVP-4 processing amplifier permits a wide range of both luminance and chromanance correction to analog tapes.
Audio includes a Pioneer Turntable PL-600, Sony CD Player CDP-212 and Sony Tape Deck TC-W345, piped through a Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro audio mixer, in addition to an assortment of wired and wireless microphones for voice input. Adobe's Audition and Sony Vegas are available for minor correction and editing of audio source materials.
In general, PowerPoint ® presentations transferred to video from the computer produces excellent results. A full discussion of this process may be found in the PowerPoint® to DVD and Tape section of our web site. |
A Videonics 2000 titler is available for titling, and there is a Sony DHR-1000 DVCam/MiniDV deck available for the quick transfer of DV source tapes to VHS tape.
A single channel of audio for adding voice-over or music from CD and audio tape sources to VHS and S-VHS video tapes is also available.
The "do-it-yourself" configuration, a hold-over from the days of editing with VHS tape, is occasionally used now by clients who seek an inexpensive way to capture still pictures and slides to VHS tape. We'll show you how to use the equipment and be on hand to answer any questions you might have regarding its use.
