The answer is "YES." We can provide editable files for both the PC and Mac. Give us a call at 425-641-4811 or drop us an email to discuss your specific needs and any concerns you might have.
From analog video tapes:
We can convert analog video -- BetaMax, VHS, VHS-C, SVHS, 8mm and Hi-8 tapes -- to a digital format and put the resulting files onto a hard drive you supply. Video requires about 14gb of storage space for each hour of source material, so be sure to provide a sufficiently large hard drive.
If you have only a small amount of material, about 15 to 18 minutes, we can convert to a digital format and put the file onto a data DVD. The file(s) on your data DVD will play in your compter and can be downloaded for editing but will not play in your DVD player.
We can also put the digital files onto a Flash (thumb) drive, provided of course that it is large enough. A 16gb Flash drive will hold a one-hour file.
We can extract and convert video from non-commercial DVDs and put the resulting editable file onto your hard drive, a data DVD or a large Flash drive.
File formats available:
We can create video files in the AVI, MOV, MPEG1 and MPEG2, WMV and several less common file formats.
Cost:
The cost for this service is $15.00 per hour of source material.
