- European Gas Flame Association. Superb illustrations of early gas lamps, burners, meters, radiators, etc. Excellent links to other preservation and historical groups. With both English and French text.

- Go Antiques Excellent commercial resource for antique lighting instruments, many from the 19th century collection.
- Google Directory of Antique Lighting. A very comprehensive directory of antique lighting web pages maintained by the Google search engine.
- A History of Light and Lighting, Edition: 2.2 (1999). Bill Williams' delightful chronology of light and lighting, with theory and practice from the birth of the sun to the present.
- Bill Williams and Associates, Lighting Designers and Theatre Consultants (Canada). Williams maintains The World Lighting Links a site which includes architectural, theatre, entertainment and scientific lighting links; The Lighting Library; and Stage Lighting 101, a great overview of lighting for students, teachers and professionals as well. Visit the firm's home page.
- Lighting Links. Commercial site with good links to antique lighting instruments. The main site is also worth a visit.

- The Regency Collection: Gas Lighting, a discussion and chronology, with illustrations from the London stage.
- Lighting a Revolution: Smithsonian Institution electric lighting history. A good elementary site with interesting links.
- Stage Lighting Bibliography and Lighting Design Source. "LightingDesignSource is a resource for lighting design students at the University of Virginia." Not recently updated, but an excellent bibliographic and information resource.
